HOW WE CREATE OUR GUIDANCE

Useful tracking advice.
Clear about its limits.

Calmira publishes practical guidance to help you keep a personal migraine diary and prepare a clearer history for appointments.

Who writes these articles?

Articles are published by the Calmira team, the people behind the Calmira iPhone app. Our interest is helping you use a diary consistently. We also have a commercial interest in the app: it is free to download and offers optional in-app purchases. Blog links may take you to that app.

Sources and medical review

We use patient information from headache organizations and healthcare providers for medical context, and link the sources where we use them. Our articles are editorial tracking guidance. They have not been individually reviewed by a clinician, and we do not present them as medical advice. A diary cannot diagnose a condition or prove what caused an attack.

Examples, illustrations, and app screens

Completed diary examples are fictional and labelled as examples. Blog cover illustrations are generated artwork; they do not show real patients or clinical results. App screenshots show the actual Calmira interface, with illustrative diary entries.

Dates, corrections, and updates

Each article shows its publication date. We update the modification date when its content changes meaningfully. We do not refresh dates just to make unchanged information look new. If you notice a factual error, contact Calmira support and include the page and the correction you suggest.

Tracking is personal

There is no universal list of triggers or weather threshold that predicts an attack for everyone. Keep observations separate from conclusions, and discuss questions about diagnosis, treatment, or changes in symptoms with a qualified healthcare professional.
